How can I have peace when the world’s on fire?

The Republicans….The Democrats…this crazy generation…the price of food and GAS!!

What a small God we would have if we allowed these things to steal our peace.

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span? And why are you worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. He clothes the lilies…. It’s not just a song.

‘He knows when a sparrow falls in Monroe or Abu Dhabi or Australia… It’s not just a song.

What would happen if we really believed the songs we sing?

‘“I trust in God my Savior…the one that never fails.”  But, in our heads and hearts, doesn’t He fail just a little when don’t get what we expect?

“Jesus, You’re my firm foundation…”.  But, we run around worrying about everything (fill in the blank with your worry du Jour).  He’s our foundation; not Washington or Baton Rouge or Wall Street. Jesus.

“So whatever I’m feeling, I’ve still got a reason to praise” and complain and belittle and talk down about people created in the image of our God. I’m preaching first to the person in the mirror. Felicia in traffic is not pretty.

WHERE IS YOUR PEACE?

If we displayed supernatural peace, the world would notice.

If you believed and said that no matter what happens in November, I pray Kamala and Donald both have a relationship with Jesus and we all meet up in eternity.  The world would notice.  Because you don’t sound like every other fearful and angry voice.

Peace is found only in Jesus.  God made flesh for us.  The creator of the sun came to rescue me.  The God of the universe loves me.  And whatever comes next, I’ve made a covenant with Him to follow Him for eternity.

In The Chosen, Gaias comments to Matthew about how peaceful and relaxed he looks.  Matthew replied “I have only one thing to do today.  Follow Him.  The rest takes care of itself”.  There is peace in only having to do this one thing.
